Herring referred to in a statement: “This primary was a referendum on the development we now have made on civil rights, criminal justice reform, healthcare entry, clean air and water, victims’ rights, gun violence prevention, and buyer protection, and voters made it clear that they are looking to retain the progress going.”
Jones issued a statement Tuesday evening congratulating Herring and asserting he’d work “relentlessly” to elect Democratic candidates in the fall.
“Tonight’s influence is disappointing, but we are able to no longer let it deter us from continuing the battle to carry proper reform to Virginia,” he referred to.
